This is the space where I share a little dirt about myself. Well, I am not going to tell you my deepest darkest secrets but I can tell you a little about me, a Hoosier who loves to garden. My name is Bev. I have lived in Indiana for most of my 60+ years and honestly can’t imagine living anywhere else. There was a span of about 5 years when my husband’s job had us living in New Jersey but other than that Indiana has always been my home.
I think I was about 8 when my Grandmother invited me to help her in the garden and I have been “rooted” in the activity of growing things ever since. Now, I am a Grandma myself and it is everything I ever hoped for and more. I relate motherhood and being a grandparent to gardening. The little seedlings are planted into our lives and the journey begins. We try to keep the weeds from smothering them with negative energy, we share the waters of wisdom with them, we fertilize them with encouragement and we watch them grow and blossom into wonderful, useful adults.
It is my hope that as this blog grows, much like my plants, that we will get to know each other and become friends that share the passion of gardening.
